Welcome to Beanstack!

Do you enjoy tracking your reading? How about completing reading challenges? Maybe you like winning prizes? Then you are going to love Beanstack. Similiar to Goodreads but set up through your local library Beanstack allows you to track the time  you spend reading, the books you've read, participate in challenges, review titles and connect with other Beanstack users in your area.  It also is perfect for families since they allow you to set up a family account so a parent can track for themselves and help their children track easily from the same account.

Beanstack allows library users to take part in reading challenges.  Some challenges are linked to library programs, some have themes of their own, and some are just for the love of reading!  Many challenges offer draws for users that complete them.  If challenges are not for you, you can also just use it to track your reading and get recommendations in your inbox!

1000 Books

The concept is simple, the rewards are priceless. Read a book (any book) to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler. The goal is to have read 1,000 books (yes you can repeat books) before your precious one starts kindergarten. Does it sound hard? Not really if you think about it. If you read just 1 book a night, you will have read about 365 books in a year. That is 730 books in two years and 1,095 books in three years. If you consider that most children start kindergarten at around 5 years of age, you have more time than you think – start today.
